- 1 large cedar plank, soaked in water for at least 1 hour
- 4 salmon fillets, skin-on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh dill or parsley for garnish (optional)
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375°F/190°C). If you prefer to use an oven, preheat it to the same temperature.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. This will be the marinade for the salmon.
- Place the soaked cedar plank on the grill or in the oven for a few minutes to allow it to heat up.
- Pat dry the salmon fillets with a paper towel and place them on a large plate or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure each fillet is coated evenly. Let the salmon marinate for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Carefully remove the cedar plank from the grill or oven and place the marinated salmon fillets on top, skin-side down.
- Place the cedar plank with the salmon back on the grill or in the oven. Close the lid if using a grill. Cook the salmon for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
- Once the salmon is cooked, remove the cedar plank from the grill or oven. Be cautious as the plank will be hot.
- Allow the salmon to rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh dill or parsley, if desired, and serve with lemon wedges.
